The Devil Inside (private. mature)

Edward left nothing but the bone left on the steak which he went straight back to the eggs wolfing them down without even dropping a single drop of the yolk onto the plate and a small drip of the yolk was dripping down the corner of his lip which he looked up at Regina when he was finished, "Did I do something?" He asked her seeing the amusement in Regina's face when he ate his meal, "I don't look funny do I?" He asked her.

Regina watched him with mild humor and strange interest in his behavior. With a completely blank folder on him, she had to analyze every bit of how he walked, talked, acting in private and out in public. She had always loved puzzles, which is why she had become a psychologist in the first place. All of that aside.... he was kind of funny. He seemed like such a little kid. And there was.... No! This man was a patient, and nothing else.

Edward had waited on his seat feeling somewhat tortured by the scent of food cooking when he had been fed through a straw in his vein for the last week and was starving for real food. His chin was pressed into the island table with a look on his face that was like a dog that was being tortured for real food. He remained silent however to not seem ungreatful for her making him something warm as opposed to handing him something that took no effort to make. When his meal was finally presented to him he looked at the steak and eggs, instead of going for the fork and knife however he went straight to the hot food grabbing the steak first and using his hands to pick up and start chewing on his meat like it was completely normal to do so.

Regina smiled faintly at him, lightly patting him on the shoulder. "Alright then. I'll make something rather simple." She turned and got out everything she needed for steak and eggs. She seasoned the steaks and out them on, as she went into the fridge and poured a cup of iced sweet tea, handing it to him. "Here. It's sweet tea, with just the right amount of sugar." After about fourty-five minutes, she had everything done, and set it out on the kitchen's island. "Here you go." She made his plate and handed it to him, with a fork and a steak knife.

Edward was rather amazed that a building that was as big as this could look any bigger. When he was finally inside the whole place just seemed to expand as though it was under a spell to multiply the size of the already large building, "Wow. You weren't kidding." He said to Regina letting his eyes explore the house while he got himself accustomed to her dwelling. He felt her hand pull him from the trance he was under and took a step to catch his balance while he was escorted to the kitchen then to the seat on the island's chair, "I really don't remember. But i don't really care right now." Almost on cue his stomach growled loudly which he grabbed at his stomach.

She laughed at his reaction when the house came into sight. He was like a little kid, the way he had his face pressed against the window. "It looked much bigger on the inside." She parked the car and got out, clasping her hands togehter and stretching them over her head, her shirt showing just a little of her flat stomach. "Come on inside. You probably are hungry, so we'll go to the kitchen first." When they entered the mansion, they were in the massive main hallway, with a large staircase that lead up to the second floor. "Here." She took his hand and led him through the first floor to the kitchen. "Take a seat at the island." She walked over to the fridge and opened it, humming under her breath. "So.... Can you remember if there is something you liked to eat?"

Edward felt slightly uneasy with Regina mentioning memory tests for a few hours, though if it were to help him he would do so. Just as long as he was out of this place. This place just made him feel uneasy, like something here was meant to make him feel like something was following him, "Anything that will help." He said to her meaning what he said to her.

The idea of a traumatic even made him wonder what could have happened before to make him forget what had happened. Once inside of the vehicle, Edward looked around while the vehicle moved. Surprisingly he felt more at ease inside of the vehicle than he did in the stationary location. While waiting for the mansion to come into view, he sat still until it finally came to view. He was in awe seeing the two story mansion which he pressed his face to the window watching it come closer and closer, "Wow. It looks so bog." He said to Regina waiting for his chance to get out of the vehicle and go to the mansion.

Regina stretched slowly after she finished off her soda, turning to watch him closely for any signs of mental breakdown. She was pretty sure he was mentally solid, but she had to make sure he was okay. Why she had the damn near overwhelming need to do so, was beyond even her reasoning mind. "Well, it will mostly be putting you on a schedule, and having you spend a few hours doing memory tests I designed myself to help people with amnesia.

"That is the temporary loss of memory, usually brought on by a traumatic event, and based on how bad you were, its probably what you have." She carefully took his hand and led him outside and to her car. She drove him out of town and to her modest-looking Victoria-era two-floor mansion."Home Sweet home."

She reached out and pushed a lock of his hair back from his face, frowning slightly. "I
can see the stress working on your mind. Give me a few minutes to get the paperwork
through to get you out of here." She left the room and was gone for several at least
five minutes before she came back with a bag containing some clothes in hand. "Here."
She detached him from the machines, placing a bandaid over the neddle areas, and then
pulled the stuff out for him. "Underwear, pants, and a shirt. I am going to grab something
from the cafeteria, and then I will be back, and I will get you out of here." She pat
his shoulder and then left so he could get dressed.

The male watched as Regina cleared the room and left him alone with her, "Where is this place?" He asked in his confused manner when she asked how he was feeling, "I'm confused, I don't know how I got here. I don't know where I am. I just...I don't know what is going on." He said to her trying to put everything together with his scrambled mind. His eyes were wondering around the white, sterile room, "Who are you? Are you here to help me?" He asked her wanting to know why he was here and what happened to bring him here

It was raining hard that night, the rain kept the world obscured with the heavy droplets that covered the world. From the dirt a man crawled covered in the mud the rain created crawled his was from a set of near by woods. The man on closer notice was covered in deep gashes; his muscles torn, ligaments ripped and blood covering the ground that he crawled on. As he crawled, he approached the road pulling himself onto the asphalt ground with his one working arm. He couldn't stand, but he couldn't stay still regardless of the circumstances. The man picked himself off the ground keeping most of his body from scraping the asphalt, the wounds however grew too much for him to handle and he blacked out there in the middle of the road. Instead of being left to die however a car had been on the road and skidded to a stop when the lights had gone over the unconscious body of the young man who was clinging to life by a very small threat.

A week after the events, the young man was in a near comatose state laying in the bed that and stuck in that white sterile room. Strangely the man had recovered most of his injuries at such a rapid rate that the huge gashes and the torn muscles had closed themselves up and reconnected to each part of their appropriate sections. It was a medical curiosity to say the least, nearly inhuman in the way and time it took to heal his body. Despite everything, his body still retained normal patterns. His brain was active in the same way a coma patient would, his body was motionless even if it was almost impossible to heal from his injuries.

That final day, the male's eyes began to open and he began waking from his near endless sleep. The deep gashes remained as scars which would be a reminder of his injuries. The man looked left and right from the position he was in seeing the bright white room he now was residing in. He began getting up from the bed which the way his heart began responding lead to the EKG sounding off in an alarm where a minute after a swarm of doctors rushed in expecting to see the man still in bed but never to open his eyes again. What they saw caused shock and awe that the male that was on the bring of death was now nearly completely healed and was moving around if slowly. The male looked at the men and women cloaked in white in confusion like he didn't know where this place was, in reality he didn't. It was soon evident that they were going to ask him who he was, but at the same time he had no idea where he was, who he was or what was happening around him. The look in his eyes showed it, he had no idea what everything was here.
